## EVELYN HU RESEARCH GROUP — SCULPTING LIGHT-MATTER INTERACTION AT THE NANOSCALE

Our research explores new possibilities of optical and electronic behavior within materials that have been carefully sculpted, modulated and modified at the nanoscale. Using cutting-edge nanofabrication techniques, we create structures to enhance light-matter interaction, e.g. nanophotonic cavities, that have enabled us to:

1. Develop new techniques to probe fundamental material physics
2. Create high-performance photonic and electronic devices for classical and quantum communication/information applications.

As part of our research, we make heavy use of Harvard University's [Center for Nanoscale Systems](https://cns1.rc.fas.harvard.edu/), and are key members of the [Center for Integrated Quantum Materials (CIQM)](http://ciqm.harvard.edu/) and the [Harvard Quantum Initiative (HQI)](https://quantum.harvard.edu/).
