EVELYN HU RESEARCH GROUP — SCULPTING LIGHT-MATTER INTERACTION AT THE NANOSCALE

Our research explores new possibilities of optical and electronic behavior within materials that have been carefully sculpted, modulated and modified at the nanoscale. Using cutting-edge nanofabrication techniques, we create structures to enhance light-matter interaction, e.g. nanophotonic cavities, that have enabled us to:

  1. Develop new techniques to probe fundamental material physics
  2. Create high-performance photonic and electronic devices for classical and quantum communication/information applications.

As part of our research, we make heavy use of Harvard University's Center for Nanoscale Systems, and are key members of the Center for Integrated Quantum Materials (CIQM) and the Harvard Quantum Initiative (HQI).
